Taiko
Went to the Peabody Essex Museum today. They have their annual Japanese New Years Festival. Included a calligraphy demonstration and workshop by an amazing artist, storytelling, crafts for the kiddies, and various other cultural stuff.
But for me, the highlight was the Taiko presentation. This was put on by two members of Odaiko New England. I’ve seen their full ensemble a couple of summers ago. Blew me away. Today’s show, though smaller, was really awesome too. If it were a bit closer to home, I might sign up for lessons.
Besides looking like a great workout, they just look like they are having SO much fun.
